What is Streetball?

Streetball is a relaxed, free-flowing version of basketball. It’s about having fun, staying active, and playing together.

About YStreetball

YStreetball started in March 2017, founded by YMCA volunteers Dave and Pete.

The program was created to support adults experiencing homelessness or disadvantage.

After the games, participants can:

  • have a shower;
  • relax and connect with others;
  • meet new people in a safe, welcoming space.

YStreetball was developed in partnership with YMCA Victoria and the City of Melbourne, and is proudly based at North Melbourne Community Centre.

Today, YStreetball is a strong, welcoming community program where everyone belongs.
